Chay Bowskill is a 20-year-old from Syston, Leicestershire.
His mum Kathy Norris told The Sun that Bowskill had been in prison twice, before his third incarceration.
In January 2022, Bowskill was found guilty of the 2020 kidnapping of his ex-girlfriend Angel Lynn.
He was also convicted of coercive and controlling behaviour and perverting the course of justice – but was cleared of causing grievous bodily harm.
What was happening between Angel Lynn and Chay Bowskill?
On September 27, 2020, Angel was found lying in the carriageway of the A6 near Loughborough with catastrophic injuries.
As it travelled along the road at 60mph, Angel fell out of the van at around 10.45 am before she was found by an alarmed passerby.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and Angel was taken to hospital but – despite intensive medical intervention – she was left with life-changing injuries.
After the accident, her family revealed she was unable to talk, walk or look after herself and need 24-hour care.
However, the good news is that Angel has improved a lot since her ordeal in 2020.

On Monday, January 24, 2022, Bowskill was sentenced to a total of seven and a half years in prison and will serve half his sentence behind bars — three years and nine months.
What has Bowskill said about his conviction?
Bowskill denied that he was responsible, or that he had been abusive and controlling towards Angel.
During the 23 March Court of Appeal hearing, Bowskill, who appeared over a video-link from prison wearing a grey sweatshirt, shook his head as he heard the result of the sentence increase.
He remains in prison.
